From 1992 to 1995, Atlas Editions created twenty decks of subscription-only cards featuring classic motorcycles. The 5½-inch-square cards look far more interesting than the Top Trumps I played with as a kid (or the Pokémon cards my son plays with today). Atlas no longer makes the cards: to get them, you’ll need to go to a specialist such as Rene’ Czajka of Atlas Cards Plus. Rene’ is a long-time biker girl who grew up riding through the Californian desert, holding onto the cross bar of her Dad’s Husky. Her website is worth a visit even if you’re not a collector: it’s packed with information on obscure motorcycles, taken from the back of the cards, with a recent run of posts on tasty Zündapps.
