James Hammarhead is one of the top custom motorcycle builders in the USA. In June 2011, he returned to the small Pennsylvania farm where he grew up, visiting his childhood refuge for the first time in 30 years. He took three Hammarhead bikes with him—the Jack Pine, the Solo X and the Woodsman.

Grant Ray, creative director and co-founder of the influential Hell For Leather website, was on hand to record the occasion using a Leica M8 with vintage Leitz lenses.

The French designer Pierrick Jégou has created a stylish range of images to promote the Montée Historique du Montaigu, a classic motorcycle event in France. We love the mix of 70s and Bauhaus style, so we asked Jégou to produce a set of wallpapers for Bike EXIF readers.

Hermann Köpf is a German photographer with a particular penchant for classic motorcycles—and an uncanny ability to capture the magic of vintage machinery. He’s just released a photobook centred around an annual motorcycle hillclimb race in Alsace, and that’s the subject of our latest wallpaper set. It’s hard to find an original way to shoot a moving motorcycle. A static bike is much easier—you can put it wherever you like, and shoot it any way you please. But every now and then a photographer finds a new way to capture the beauty (or excitement) of a motorcycle at speed—and Ray Gordon did just that when he captured Thor Drake’s custom Yamaha SR500 in mid-air earlier this year. Ray has sent us a selection of his best shots as wallpapers, and you can download them here in sizes up to 2560 x 1600.
