Wrenchmonkees Hardtail Chimp

Triumph T120 hardtail bobber custom
The latest custom from the Copenhagen hotshop Wrenchmonkees is based on a Triumph Bonneville T120. And no, it’s not for sale. Wrenchmonkees #14 is called ‘Hardtail Chimp’ and was built in conjunction with owner Peter Kilmose, pictured—who has thoughtfully set up a blog to document the build. It’s a 1970 bike running a 1967 motor with authentic Amal 930 carbs, Boyer Bransden electronic ignition, and a Morgo 750cc kit to increase power. The whole lot is stripped back in classic Monkees style and finished in soft black, and it looks absolutely vidunderlig. [If you like the Danish style, check out the Wrenchmonkees' cafe racer versions of the Honda CB750 and the BMW R80.]

Now that is a really nice photo of a swell machine.

    Ai Yai Yai, WOW.

Please, for the love of all that is decent, quit screwing around with old Triumphs. They were right the first time around, don’t hack them up.

I love its looks. Best-looking Triumph I have seen in a while.

    This Triumph is amazing.

Average custom. WM does better cafes I think.

I think it is foolish to ruin a good machine by destroying its integrity like this. Rigid rear end was crap even when it was the only option.
