John Ryland runs Classified Moto, a custom workshop in Richmond, Virginia, USA. He specializes in affordable alt-moto customs and random creative expressions, and welcomes those who detour from the mainstream.

“We don’t have any notions of what is a ‘proper’ bike to own and enjoy, so we work with what’s available to create unique recycled motorbikes,” he says. “Along the way, we document everything, and do what we can to stay inspired. You never know what our next offering will be—a bike, a poster, or a lamp. We even made a cigar ashtray once, by request.”
