Kurt Spurlock

Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Kurt Spurlock caught the motorcycle bug early, riding home from elementary school on the back of his dad's 1982 Yamaha Seca 650 Turbo. He started riding himself at 16, and cut his teeth riding sportbikes on the scenic ribbons of pavement that wind through the Great Smoky Mountains.

After taking a six-year pilgrimage out to Southern California where he totaled his RC51 in the canyons of Azuza (twice) and learned to love dual sports in the Joshua Tree desert, Kurt returned to the east coast and took up writing full time. Nowadays he splits his time between a Triumph Speed Triple 1050, a Yamaha WR250R, and a Suzuki DR650 he just can't bring himself to let go of.

When he's not writing for Bike EXIF, Kurt is a contributing editor for Electric Cycle Rider, and regularly covers all things two wheels for Men's Journal, The Manual, and Encyclopaedia Britannica.
