Mission One electric motorcycleToday’s big news has been the unveiling of the Mission One electric sportsbike. The styling is certainly electrifying, with shades of the KTM RC8. Top speed is reportedly 150 mph, and the range is 150 miles. The Mission One is slated to go on sale next year, as a 50-unit limited edition, with an RRP of $68,995. Fortunately a cheaper model will be announced later this year …

    I wonder how quiet it is – honestly the loudness of a motorbike can be a safety factor. If we are to one day live in a world of electric (silent) cars, trucks and cycles I can see hit and run numbers going through the roof!

    I reckon that once electric vehicles become more prevalent, pedestrians will adapt. A few may meet their demise in the meantime, I guess. Early adopters of electric bikes should ensure they have four-pot Brembos on the front …
