Moto Morini Corsa

Moto Morini Corsa
If I lived anywhere near the city of Santa Paula, I’d be riding over to the California Oil Museum this weekend. The star attraction is a new exhibition called Italian Motorcycles: Incredible Classics to Modern Marvels, featuring delicious machines such as the 1959 Moto Morini above. The motorcycles on display are owned by two collectors, Daniel Shoenewald and Guy Webster. Webster is a world-renowned rock photographer, and luckily for us, he collects and shoots vintage motorcycles too. Motorcycle Classics has a great write-up of the exhibition, and Guy Webster’s own portfolio site is chock-full of magnificent and rare two-wheelers.

I went to college in Santa Paula (well, actually about 7 miles north of Santa Paula on hwy150… but it had an SP address), anyway, heading out there to the museum is just icing on the cake for following it up with a ride on HWY150, to Ojai, then on out highway 33 north of Ojai. You can either continue out on a long loop to the 5fwy, or swing back down towards Ventura (which is right between Santa Barbara or Malibu).

Either way, Ventura County is awesome this time of year. If do head out that way, I HIGHLY recommend going to Boccali’s for food. (google “Boccoli’s” it is top on the list)

    You’ll thank me.
